Students in Art 2 are studying value and using charcoal as a drawing medium. Creating value studies in charcoal allows for a looseness and easy manipulation of the medium to create dramatic and bold compositions. Students are directly observing a knotted piece of fabric while considering composition and form. This is the first piece of observational work students are doing in this course and allows for creative problem solving and thinking skills. This lesson also allows for many possible outcomes as the student has his or her choice of composition and scale. STAY TUNED FOR STUDENT WORK AND LESSON PLAN
